THE NATURAL STEP LAUNCHES NEW WEBSITE
Site offers state-of-the-art sustainability information and designSan Francisco, CA - March 15, 2003 - The Natural Step launched a new web site with an emphasis on the organization's core program activities: research, advisory services and education. It is a true reflection of The Natural Step's current strategy and operations and serves to clarify its role within the growing field of sustainability leaders and pioneers. The site uses powerful imagery and an innovative design approach to illustrate The Natural Step's model of sustainability - focused on ensuring a prosperous, equitable, healthy future for all people and the planet. The new site was developed by ClickImpact, an interactive agency based in Sausalito, CA. The agency's extensive experience with non-profit website development made them an ideal partner for the project. Brian West, a Partner at ClickImpact had this to say about the new website: "Our goal in this project was to reflect The Natural Step's intuitive approach to sustainability, creating a visually captivating, easy-to-use website that tells a compelling and clear story about the opportunity of sustainability. We further embedded these qualities in the site through an efficient use of space and bandwidth and an approachable architecture that immerses users in the site's rich content". According to Birgit Maddox, Founder of Maddox Design, "The Natural Step's new website is a masterpiece of information design. It effectively uses design strategies that translate the complexity of The Natural Step's work into useful information and therefore brings humanity one step closer to truly understanding sustainability." In addition to showcasing 6 new case summaries and details on leading research initiatives, the site includes a "Learn" section and a Newsroom built to arm anyone interested with plenty of materials to get them inspired and empowered to become part of the sustainability revolution. The publications library holds literally hundreds of downloadable articles, international case summaries and research reports, working papers, event materials, resource guides and more.
